Makiti with it's unique African buildings is already a 'must stop' for every tourist on the N3 between Villiers and Warden. It is situated 36 km from Warden and has a Restaurant, Butchery, Boutique type gift shop and an Art Gallery. Shortly overnight facilities will be added. It is in the centre of the Grasslands Meander and tourists can get information about what to do in the area.

ACTIVITIES
Amongst other things they serve traditional food like Bobotie and Chicken Pie in the Restaurant. In the shop you can buy homemade Ginger Beer, Jams made of real fruit and many of Grandma's cookies. On Sundays the Buffet lunch is to die for but be warned if you don't book in advance you may be turned away.

DIRECTIONS
To reach Makiti, travel on the N3 through road from Johannesburg and you will find them 38 km before Warden on the Reitz/Roadside off ramp. You will see the orange domed buildings after about 10 km on the left hand side of the road if traveling towards Durban.
